That's one of the key questions at the heart of this six-part history series. Using dramatic reconstructions, based on extensive research in Russian and Western archives, and extraordinary testimony from witnesses, this series tells a 'behind closed doors' history. This episode looks at the years 1942-1943, of Stalingrad and Kursk, and of a failed meeting between Stalin and Roosevelt.
