Im interested to know everyone's names for the events and their impressions.

Mein Name ist Claus Meyer Hartwig. :D "Claus" means: Victory of the People. "Meyer" means: Farmer and "Hartwig" means Strong Battle. Also I thought I'd keep the same 3 initials as my name.

Steve,

Could't you use your real last name? I'm sure that it would.t have been unusual for people who are imigrants to Germany to join the Wehrmacht?

Andy.

"David Schneider" is entirely appropriate, there are lots of Americans with German names in the New England/New York/Pennsylvania region.
New York was a Dutch colony (Nieuw Amsterdam) before they traded Manhattan Island to the British in exchange for one of the spice islands in the Dutch East Indies. It was a good deal for the Dutch at the time.
The Amish of Pennsylvania are actually a German religious sect, who emigrated there in the early days of settlement of the Americas like the Quakers and many other religious refugees.
For you American Civil War nuts, the little church at Shiloh was established by one such German religious community.
