As most of you know Danni and I have a new brother for our son Joel. Luke Geoffrey Schneider arrived at 0600 on 30/12/2008 at Ashford Hospital.

Sometime late January or early Febuary I'd like to do a little tradition that we started with Joel. I call it wetting the baby's head. Essentially it's an excuse to get friends and family together for drinks and eats. In the course of the event we quite literally wet the baby's head with a trickle of expensive bubbly.

I wanted to sound the members out if anyone would be interested in attending in uniform as an honor guard, so as to at least create a little colour and movement, and make the whole affair even more interesting. I was thinking a mix of Axis & Allies.

Please let me know if folks are interested.

Thanks guys. The date is now set as 25th January. This is my late fathers birthday, and seems a fitting day. It'd make my day to have the club there in full regalia. Food will be supplied, BYO drinks. I'll create a Facebook event, and advise of time, etc here a little later.

Hmmm...now WHAT to wear? With 12 uniforms to choose from...geesh! I'l have to try them all on and stand in front of a mirror alot..heh-heh!

I'd like to see a mixture of uniforms. Can I suggest Andy as Aussie, Craig as German Infantry, Daniel as Italian & Stephen as Soviet Navy? That'll give us two Axis & two Allied, & it'll look pretty.

Plan is that there will be a tent set up outside. Honor Guard at ease. Bring baby out, attention. Then stand at ease. Brief spiel. Guard attention, guard present arms. Wet Head. At ease, dismiss. Secure arms, eat & drink lots.

If others are coming please advise me ASAP so that I can make sure that there is lots of lovely food there for you! We can sort your impression then, but a Fallschirmjager would be nice!

I'd love to see that uniform, but lets not freak out the punters too much on the first outing. My ulterior motive here is to expose as many people in my family & social network to the concept of Living History. Plus it's gonna make for some great photos!

Well, due to the lack of ability for people to attend this gathering I am going to have to scrap the Honor Guard. It's a shame but there you go.
