Hi,

Heres an update from CHS. I will need to confirm the fee's listed below as I was originally told $50. If it is actually $40 and not $50, I'll pay you all back the money owed at the next meeting.

Andy.

All,

As you are no doubt aware, Wedderburn is now two less than 2 weeks
away. As committee members have been extremely busy with "normal" life
the past month or so as well as flat out getting communications
sorted, an update is long overdue.

Attached is the initial document. Please consider this doc plus the
updated info below.

1. Arrivals- may take place either Friday or very early Saturday. A
guide for Friday is to try to get in by about 1930 hrs to avoid the
kangaroos and other obstacles that are in the area. If you are going
to be later, please advise if possible prior to the friday by email. a
contact number for the event on-site will be supplied prior to the
event.

2. Kit- as stated in the word document Period or repro kit only is
accepted- this goes for camp kit as well. There are enough spare
complete zelts to doss in- CHS members are good willed and will
accommodate. Given the weather- anticipate mild days and cool nights.
Dress accordingly. There will be a fire to gather around, but a
greatcoat or similar may be a good idea. Cotton tropical kit is good,
but have wools as aback up.

3. Blank- a reminder that NO PLASTIC blank is to be used at this
event- this is a safety concern and for the good of our insurance,
please comply with this directive- a full safety brief and weapons/
ammo inspection will take place first thing on the Saturday and any
blank that is not compliant will be removed from the site. Anyone
requiring last minute blank, please contact Tony Miller on the
attached email address.

3. How to get there? Maps are attached as well as this text explanation;

From Melbourne- If you have a look at the Inglewood map and find
Inglewood and then go up the Calder Highway to Kurting. Just past
Kurting you turn left into the Brenanah-Kurting Road. (Go west). Go
past the Brenanah-Glenalbyn crossroad and the next crossroad is the
Brenanah-Wedderburn Road.

Turn right and head towards Wedderburn and about 500 metres up is
Peter Rollinson's property. He is on the right. This is the site.

Peter has Mount Brenanah on his property.

From the North West- I have included the Wedderburn map as there are
some people coming from the other way but the easiest way is to come
south along the Calder Highway through Wedderburn and head towards
Inglewood. Then turn right at the Brenanah-Kurting Road and follow
the same directions.

There will be white CHS signs located near the property, and at the
intersections leading to the property within 5 km radius, so once you
get closer, you will see these signs. On Friday night, a lantern will
mark the gate and also the camp site.

5. Kit loan- If you need kit items, SPEAK UP NOW- CHS has an amount of
loaner gear both Axis and Allied that may be signed out at the event
and returned on Sunday- this must be signed for and any damages paid
for. However, if you don't pipe up it won't be brought to the event.

6. Water- I know some of you have indicated that you can bring water
jerrycans. Also consider filling any canteens PRIOR to arriving at the
site. Water is limited and we have a cookhouse to run as well.

7. event Payment- $40 per head to cover insurance and catering-
contact Tony Miller for CHS banking details by email- cc above. Due
end of this week by COB 05 Sep 2008

Any last minute questions, nows the time!!!!!!!

I hope I have everyone listed here- some of you are not coming, but
please pass this on to those I may have missed. Those that initially
weren't coming- there's still time!

cheers and see you all there.

Steve Haynes

Haha, me too, just now. You should keep your eye out for an old ruined antique camera, maybe we can fit a modern camera inside?

Keith Baker has an antique camera, which he has said I could borrow for shots, but I dont want to be responsible for anything going wrong with it... as long as I dont walk around with it (my camera that is!) "out" like I did in that shot of Steve and I, it should be fine. I plan on getting lots of shots at Wedderburn....

Hi Craig,

That was last years e-mail rehashed for this year and they forgot to update the actual date. You are correct on the date.

I've produced a travel map for those driving/navigating/just-plain-curious.
I would upload it - but the forum says that PDF's are not allowed.

People can email me directly for the map (unless the forum rules are changed).

Seeing as we've paid $50 for the event and the actual fee is $40, will we be reimbursed the $10 from the Treasurer on Sunday 6th September?

"will we be reimbursed the $10"

Hopefully yes. I believe Andy has our cash as he was the one who paid CHS (as he is our CHS contact). Please correct me if wrong Andy.
