Hi All,

In a couple of weeks I will be purchasing for me: 100 sandbags. Why do I need 100 sandbags? Well, truth is, I dont actually NEED them, but I want them for my 40th birthday celebrations. If the group would like to get some I can get them as well that way when is comes to digging in somewhere, we have bags we can fill and add to the scenario. Just a thought and all. I'll mention this at the meeting on the 7th and see what everyone's opinion is. Its just an offer to organise some extra for the group, if the group want them.

Now getting back to my 40th. This is an open invitation to the group, all members and their partners. I am holding a "1940" themed party at my house in Feb 2009. (my actual b'day is Christmas Eve) I am busy sourcing many things from the 40's to help the look of the party and make it a good one for me. You are all invited to come in what ever uniform you like (from the war period) what ever rank you like, considering it wont be a Reenact SA event. Again: I would like to discuss this at the meeting on the 7th after all official club business is out of the way. I figure you only turn 40 once, so why not make the most of it!

Blitzcraig.

Date for the party has been changed and confirmed to the 31st of January. I have received answers regarding postal addresses for most of the group, I can only assume that those who havent replied wont be attending, but thats ok. Im looking forward to it! My sister is baking me a huge cake, I havent sent the design on to her yet, but lets just say...it wont be boring! ha-ha!! Im sorting out WW2 and 40's era music....lots of Billie Holiday, Glenn Miller, Vera Lynn, Big Band, Jazz, Edith Piaf, National Anthems et cetera..... *joy* (my neighbours are being warned WAY in advance)

Im hoping to set up a "machine gun nest" in my back yard, Ive spoken to Chris and he's going to help with camo netting and other bits and pieces, and Im getting the sandbags soon....then Ive just gotta fill em...Chris suggested bark chip, then theyre light and can be moved. Sounds like a plan to me...

I hope to attend, but can make no guarantees right now. Danni is in Ashford, due to complications, until the new baby arrives, and we may be too busy with new baby stuff to deal with a party.

Will have to see.
