Come along to Campbell Town and enjoy a three day event that will expose you some of Tasmanias private collections of our military and colonial heritage.

It will also give the public a chance to see and learn about other facets of military history through living history groups.

It's a great meeting place for collectors of arms, militaria, badges, medals, books, uniforms and vehicles from all countries and periods as well as dealers from around Australia in those things.

Also living history displays of Light Horse, Medieval, 19th Century, World War II periods plus displays from Tasmania Police, Defense Department and other organisations.

This appears to relate to a past event, and for some reason the link doesn't work.

I was under the impression that the date for the 2009 event was the last weekend in November 2009.

This is the email from Tony Dick:

From: "TONY DICK ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS AND CONTRACTING PTY LTD" <AMDICK@BIGPOND.COM>
> A meeting was held yesterday at Campbelltown to confirm the date of the > next> event. It is the last weekend in November 2009 (28th & 29th. Tony Dick and> myself are on the arena events committee. We need WW2 Aussie, Brit, NZ &> Polish, Italian German FJ, GJ & Herr. The scenario (s) will be > Mediterranean Theatre> of operations.( Greece)>> Start planning now. We would need participants on site on the Friday.>> Campbelltown is 45min south Of Launceston (airport) and 2hrs south of> Devonport (ferry terminal) advance bookings will secure significant> discounts.>> Cheers>> Tony>> 0418174709

Paul has provided additional info regarding the Tassie event. It's damn tempting, I can tell you.

"The Geelong guys are planning to take these vehicles

Jeeps. x 2 , White scout cars x 2 , GMC truck x1, Dodge Weapons carrier x2, Chev Blitz Truck x 1, Ford light truck x 1, Blitz truck & trailer x 1

They will be loaded on the ferry and unloaded at Devonport with all member in uniform.

Met by the Tassie military vehicle club members & vehicles at Devonport and a military convoy will go to Campbell Town via Launceston

Quite a momentous occasion

There may be room in some of the vehicles if members want to go. You will have to kick in some for petrol and ferry costs to share the costs but it will all be reasonable as the Geelong boys have received some assistance due to the gallant efforts from the Tassie boys

Please let me know directly kruize@tpg.com.au

If you are seriously interested. This is not a feat for people who say they are coming (and just not turn up at all)

Cheers

Paul"
