Conduct: You are representing RSA and Re-enacting to the Public and many other Clubs and Groups at this event. Please partake in Alcoholic beverages in moderation and be mindful of your language. Do not put yourself in a position of conflict if you can help it. The committee is will be taking particular notice of all members’ behaviour and will take action if needed. There will be several minors along with us for this event. Please keep them in mind.
Firearms are not to be taken into Town at any time. The exception will be when they are locked in the Radio Van outside of the Town Hall on Saturday Night (bolts removed- The best place for the bolts is locked in your own car to prevent mixing them up with other peoples rifles).
Travel: Most members will be leaving Friday sometime. Some may be coming Saturday Night, early Sunday Morning.
Doug Drager and Andrew Tostevin have room in their 1940's period Trucks for some passengers if anyone needs a lift up to Jamestown. Put your hand up if you have room for people in your vehicle as we will have some interstate reenactors needing a lift up possibly.
Andrew can fir one more in the Radio Truck and Doug probably has room for three (depending on how much kit is being brought along with the passengers).
We need someone to take a trailer with the sandbags. Do we have anyone who can do this? We can supply the trailer (Brendon's) if you have a tow ball.
Campsite: We will be camping on the airfield and will be supplied with firewood and a 44 Gallon drum cut in half. Dave is bringing his big pot and A-frame set up to boil water and use for cooking over the campfire if need be.
As this is a public display, no modern or non period items are allowed on view during daylight hours. Any modern equipment/tents or whatever will need to be stowed away each morning. Modern sleeping gear (sleeping bags etc) will need to be covered with a gray blanket.
Tentage We have several spare spots in tents but not many, so contact us asap if you will need to share a tent so it can be organised.
Water Fill your canteen BEFORE leaving home. We will take approx 20-40L of water up with us but the more the merrier if you have water carrying capabilities. If we run short, water is available in Jamestown but I can't comment on the quality of the water up there.
Food This is basically a self catered event and not catered by RSA Friday night, after setting up camp, we will get some food from the local township. Whether this consists of a big pizza run or we go into town for a pub meal is up to you to decide. Either way, someone will have to remain in camp to guard the camp. Bring money to buy your meals (and no, occupation money isn't accepted by the locals
Saturday Morning, You will need to organize your own food for breakfast. Either bring along as many period style rations as you have left over from past events, or bring some bread and polish sausage etc. The club has several cans of rations left over from Nangwarry and these will be bought along and shared with those that want to eat them. Also there will be food vendors at the airport where food can be purchased. If they are open early enough, you can purchase breakfast from them, but don't rely on them for breakfast as they may not be open that early.
Saturday evening, This is the night of the dance. Finger food will be available but if you really want to fill up, you will need to purchase food in town.
Sunday Morning, As with Saturday morning. The club will bring its supply of coffee and sugar (left over from Nangwarry), but it would be advisable to bring your own coffee and sugar if you need it. Milk will be purchased in town but we might need everyone to put a dollar in each if we need to buy lots. There will be an eski available in the supply tent (can someone bring along an eski or two)?
Sunday Lunch. This part of the day, we will be on view to the public, so break out the esbits and cook whatever we have left over, as you would in the field (or what is left over from what you bring). If food or drink is purchased from the onsite vendors, it must be eaten out of the publics’ eyes (eg. inside one of the command tents with the flap closed).
