Just to put this in your minds. The Commemorative Historical Society's (CHS) main private event next year will be France 1940 (being the 70th anniversary)

CHS is asking for thoughts from people regarding possible events commemorations. Also possible locations for a Dunkirk or similar (ie Ardennes or open fields of France) if you are aware of appropriate locations in either Victoria or South Australia (close to the Vic Border).

It would be great to see some early war BRITISH impressions for this one (Barry Lyndon has released a '37 range and WPG has got its act together).

French impressions would be good, but I don't think anyone has one.

Re-enactors portraying 1940 German Army soldiers will need to be dressed in –

M36 or M40 tunics (not M43 tunics or late war trousers)

Ideally Stone Gray Trousers, but field gray M40 trousers are ok

Jackboots (not low boots and gaiters)

Side caps or overseas caps (not peaked caps)

Double decal helmets.

No Y-straps or battle packs.
