Members,
Here is the proposed scenario for our first event at Fort Glanville. Only one scenario this time around. We hope to get into the Fort at around 10am, to set up a camp site and go through some safety and equipment checks.
For the scenario below, we will need:
Minimum of 4 Aussie/Commonwealth troops. Ideally, 5. (I'm hoping the members, Andy, Dave S, Chris and Mike will all be available for Aussies, but more would be good)
Aussie Mortar.
Aussie Radio Truck and Driver (optional).
Sandbags (as many as possible)
other defensive items such as Tank Traps, fake barbed wire, other barriers, etc.
Prop Mine makers (either Allied or Axis).
North Africa Road sign posts.
Mixture of Axis troops (DAK, FJ, Italian). Ideally Gruppe strenght (10), inclusive one Sanitater. (Please indicate asap if you can fill one of these spots)
Smoke Grenades.
Prop Bloodied Bandages for Sanitater
Blanks. 8mm, 7.62 and .303 (also some Italian 6.5mm, I think it is, blanks).
German Motorcycle and Sidecar (optional, but desirable
Stretcher.
If you can supply any of the above items it would be much appreciated (let me know what you can supply). I also need to know who can come, and what is your intended impression. ASAP. We can loan a few FJ, DAK or possibly Aussie impressions if you only have Continental (or no uniform at all yet). Please contact asap for a loaner uniform so we can fit your size. I can supply the Sanitater gear for either DAK or Fallschirmjager. Ideally, a non gun licensed member would be good to fill this role.
Guest/Associate Members are welcome to attend in an observation capacity only, but would be most welcome to help with setting up duties, Load speaker announcing over the PA, etc. Remember, if you aren't a financial member, you are a Guest/Associate Member.
Please read the proposed scenario below.

Fort Glanville scenario 1
Tobruk siege 1941
German DAK, Italian and FJ
Australian 2/48 KD or wool
Other Commonwealth Forces. ie British 8th Army, Kiwis.
Fort Glanville will represent the fortress or outlying ring pillboxes and be occupied by the 2/48. DAK units will assault the position using flares for cover on a still day. Sandbag emplacements to be set up for weapons and fighting pits in the main arena. These will have the flares directed at them. Flares to be thrown against lawned strip.
Duration 30 mins
German Forces are probing the Tobruk outer defenses and have found a gap in the Minefields and barbed wire. Allied sentry on parapet observe enemy approaching/probing allied defenses and NCO calls stand to. Mortar members race down into ammo bunker and run out with ammo boxes and place next to weapon. Meanwhile Aussie NCO climbs up to sentry .Mortar fire is directed onto advancing enemy with no effect (same type of script as at Military Veh open day) [optional] Nearby Aussie Radio Truck operator, runs to truck and goes through the motions of calling for reinforcements [will depend on availability of vehicle]
Attacking Germans form from the schutzenkette into couples to enter gate and take covering positions where suitable and direct fire at weapons pits to suppress enemy. During the advance, the NCO and sentry take up position in arena. Left or right flank advance under covering fire using flare grenades and take out 1 pit. Remaining pit/s create sufficient casualties for Germans to retreat. Medic providing care and applying bloodied bandages to head or arms. Wounded to be nominated and cry out for the Sanitater. Cease fire is called by Allies while wounded treated. And walking Germans while firing, withdraw from the main arena.
Once Germans have made it back to their start point end of battle. Allows for bloodied Axis forces to walk dejectedly back, carrying their wounded past the crowd in bloody bandages etc
Germans come back in Allied position for Safety/weapons check.
