Danni has a handy cam, and we may be able to get her to come along to watch & film.

The photog that both Chris and I know could be a possiblity, however as he works in the security industry, its hard to know when he can get time off to do such things...but he is a professional photog and excellent to work with. (although getting the pics out of him sometimes is like pulling teeth)... I can also ask him to see if he's interested, he should be at my 40th next weekend, which Im also hoping - perfect picture opportunities!!

Chris and I have been around a chaps house today sorting out a Gas Firing Vickers machine gun we can borrow for the event. Looks like the Bosh haven't a chance against the 3 inch mortar and the Machine gun :)

A big thanks to all who made this event so successful. I'll write a full report soon, but here is my favorite pic from the day.

However in saying that...Im sure that there are HEAPS of pics to come...cant wait to see them all....

Perhaps when we finally edit the filming done and put that on to DVD, perhaps we could put the photos on there as well?

Well done to all who attended... I had a great day! It was an awesome event for RSA's first public show!

Well it was great to finally go to an event where I had the opportunity to wear my 1940 UK Olive Drab battle dress that I got about a year ago. I like to think the public loved it.

The mortar team was fun. Right down the grabbing and throwing away one of the smoke grenade that landed beside me just as I was finishing off our method (4 rounds fire for effect). Considering the limited training time the mortar team did nicely.

I think the Vickers team had fun having a go at the attackers. I am looking forwards to seeing the film of the engagement. Please can the people in question burn some copies to be used at video night and recruiting events etc.

I hope we got some shots of the Germans moving forwards on the attack out side the fort. I think we did?

My high point was being the part of the mortar tube seeing as I only learned how to operate a mortar last year. What were the other's high points?

Top marks to the people who have put in the hard yards to make the day happen, we have gone from strength to strength over the last year which is great to see.

We need to have a think and work out how we can work on this and make the next event at the fort better? Any pictures please post.

This was a great first event, and I think everyone had a great time. We learnt alot from this one, and I think that our next event in April will be all the better for it.

Just a reminder on ranks and awards. Unless you are supposed to have a rank for the event, please make sure rank insignia are removed. Also if you have awards on your uniform that have not been approved by the Committee, you need to remove them.

For those with bravery awards on their uniforms, please bear in mind that we have a ban on these unless suitably earned (ie: pulling people out of burning vehicles, doing CPR to save lifes, generally being brave, etc).

Otherwise a hearty well done to evryone!

I have added my photos to the photobucket account in the Fort Glanville Album. I still haven't had a chance to look at the video Danni took.

It is my understanding that the next Fort Glanville event is April 19. April 18 is my 39th Birthday.

Existing plans involve the cooking of food, much merriment, and the honorable provision of alcohol. (I add that we are rather good cooks). All Reenact-SA financial members are welcome to attend.

This being the case I am unlikely to be in a position to attend a reenactment on the 19th.

Andy now has the footage that Danni took, so there should be an updated version soon.
