Very hard to come by, but this is the correct colour for the DAK Litzen. Gunmetal Grey backing with a Bronze waffenfarbe (although mine are a little more orange than the original, hopeing they will fade a bit).

Is this the tunic you're selling Andy? or is it yours as the keeper?

Cheers!

Craig.

This is my replacement tunic, not the one I'm selling ;) It's a bigger size than the one I'm selling.

Okay...after seeing the original litzen shown in this thread, mine are WAY off! Even though I have ordered Feldgendarmerie litzen for my DAK impression, these were the ones I got from Landser for Heer DAK:

Not even close to the originals! eeep!

Here are my Feldgen Litzen Im waiting on:

Does that mean the stitch nazis will beat me to a bloody pulp now? :?

I'm working on a way of changing the colour with some sort of permanent marker (just need to find the correct colour pen), so not all is lost yet :)

Because the correct Litzen is almost impossible to get, there is some lenience on this matter, but it is always expected that if the correct Litzen is found, that it is replaced as soon as possible. ;)

Marker you say? Hmmmm...I might be able to help on this one! Guess where I work? in an ART STORE!
WooHOOO!! The colour on the original litzen looks to me a lot like "paynes grey" which is a bluey-grey. I can bring a colour chart to the next meeting and then using a marker as you say will be pretty darn easy! They are spirit based we keep both Tria (the old Pantone markers) and Copic, which all of the Manga artists use. At a pinch if that doesnt work, acrylic paint will. Problem solvered.

That sounds great. I've found some fabric paint which emulates the bronze colour perfectly so if you can get something to do the steel gray, we will be heading down the right track :)

See if you can bring one of the markers to the next meeting and we can try it on one of my old crap Litzen.

Andy.

will do, I can match the blue-grey on screen with our colourcharts here, and bring one on Sunday.

Here's my tunic after using the fabric paint on the Litzen and Eagle to make it closer to the copper colour. The Litzen went a bit dark due to the dark orange underneath, but it comes out perfect over the yellow colour on the other Litzen.

I tried the pen, it looks good, its about 89% - 94%there...it wont be exact, but its the closest to the colour of the original, which is much closer than the tan/slate grey versions I have. The problem with the marker though is being able to actually colour in the litzen properly. I'll bring them and the marker on Sunday. You can check them out then.

Just another update folks, I used some "Paynes Grey" acrylic and some matt medium and a heap of water to create a watercolour technique for my FG DAK litzen, and they look awesome! I will post a pic as soon as I can get rid of my computer problems at home (hence doing this at work!) Problem might be solved Andy!

Cool. We might have to get together and make a few Litzen and offer them to to the other members doing DAK.

This first pic is the litzen on the left as we get them from Landser, then the one on the right is the one I played around with, with the marker, then the paint as I mentioned above.
Image
These are the DAK EM litzen.
I then coloured the FG EM litzen the same, but slightly darker, it will fade as I used student quality acrylics.
Image
The 3 litzen here are from left to right: FG EM litzen (still drying) the middle one is the dry version and the 3rd one is the DAK un-coloured.
I think these are pretty much close to the real deal and easy to do. I found the marker harder to control and it didnt bleed into the litzen fabric properly. The paint went exactly where I put it and didnt bleed more than it shouldve.
